Artist Short Biography 

My background is that I am a native of Michigan, grew up in Detroit and currently
reside in Ortonville, MI. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Development with a specialization in Training & Design and a minor in Labor and Employment from Oakland University. In addition, I have a Masters degree in Education with a major in Instructional Technology from
Wayne State University.

While I was attending school for my Art classes, I worked in the
Advertising business for various Advertising Agencies, The Design Department for the
Valeron Corporation, and eventually started my own business out of my home which
was located in Royal Oak. Through that business my clients included Word Pictures
Inc., General Motors Corporation, the then named Chrysler Corporation and additional
clients.

I also am an Instructional Designer and can create educational medical illustrations,
online modules, art work, graphs, and schematics, etc. for Power Point & Google
slides. My most recent position was that of Instructional Designer for the Oakland
University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

For my Art and Design classes, I have attended Macomb Community College, The
College For Creative Studies and Wayne State University.

Currently, I am a contemporary, fine and digital artist who has been drawing and painting since Iwas very young. My favorite mediums are acrylic paint, water color paint, and the creation of digital art using an iPad. I love to draw and paint from my photos, from my live set ups or just from my imagination. I paint with brushes, sponges, sometimes using multimedia techniques (like glass beads, string gel, white opaque flakes, etc.) or I may paint using a palette knife or using a combination of all.

I have exhibited at the Lapeer Art Association Art installations, the Paint Creek Center
for the Arts, the Clarkston Historical Society Art Show in Depot Park,
The Berkley Public Library and more shows & locations. I currently belong to several Artist Groups which include ArtSail, Michigan Artists Group, Southeastern Michigan Artists and Art Teachers Group, Detroit Art Collective, and Art in Michigan. Currently some of my larger landscape art work is exhibited at the Brandon Township Public Library - I am featured as their Winter 2024-2025 “Artist in Residence”.

From my art work, I hope to bring joy and calm to people while they view my work,
through the use of vivid color and unique design.
